For those who love some countryside and wine tasting, there’s Napa & Sonoma Valley/Wine Country Day Tour @ $86 per person, book it here.

For those who love Outlet Shopping, I can’t vouch for how good they are in SF since I’ve never done them, but word has it that these are typically where all tourists shop at when they come to SF, and you can book a ride to get to either of these outlets here!

For those who love a scenic, breath-taking drive down the beautiful Bay Area coast/Pacific Ocean, check out Monterey-Carmel/17-Mile Drive day tours like this one, this one and here @ $68-$85 per person.

If you are more adventurous, then rent a car @ $30-50 per day from Hertz, Dollar, Thrifty, or Alamo, and drive out just 1-2 hours to these places! Or drive 3-4 hours out to the gorgeous Yosemite National Park.

PREPAID MOBILE:

If you want a local prepaid SIM card when in the USA, find a T-Mobile shop to get a prepaid sim card (around US$20 + US$13 for 1 week 1GB use: http://prepaid-phones.t-mobile.com/pay-as-you-go).

GETTING AROUND SF/PUBLIC TRANSPORT:

BART and MUNI are the respective metro and tram/bus systems in SF. Google for their maps. 🙂

UBER and LYFT are “private” taxi services in USA, and widely used by residents in SF especially. It’s cheaper than normal flag down taxis, they come in basically private/normal cars, you will be given the name of your driver/car model/car plate when you “book a ride” with the app. Pay all by credit/debit.

Download both apps onto your phones with my links to get a $20 coupon for first ride for each app:

UBER – https://www.uber.com/invite/8l6o1
LYFT – https://lyft.com/i/JAN245

If you are just traveling within SF, and alone or less than 2 people, use “UBERpool” or “LYFTline” – which you will be able to see in the app. This is basically a carpooling service, where the driver will pick you (and your partner up), you will share this ride with possibly up to another 2 random guests, who are headed in the same direction as you are. (The app figures it out for the driver.)

FROM THE AIRPORT: SFO airport has a BART/metro stop that takes you to downtown areas in 30 minutes about US$9 per person one-way.
